Right now, it  feels impossible you could forget.
And for a while… you don’t.

Then one day you catch yourself wondering…

Wait. Did they really look that tiny?

That’s the beautiful thing about photographs.

They let us go back.

The First Year

Fair warning… one year rarely feels long enough.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

We purchased a Baby Plan for our daughter’s first year and I’m so glad we did because I definitely didn’t keep up with monthly milestone pictures myself.

I hope these photographs will be in the homes of my great-grandchildren one day.”

THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE DETAILS

Simply put… I take something that feels overwhelming and turn it into something you actually get to enjoy.

Client Closet

Guessing what will fit six weeks from now feels impossible.

Between postpartum bodies, changing sizes, and wanting something that still feels like you, getting dressed can feel harder than expected.

I keep a thoughtfully curated client closet for moms and little ones so you can skip the ordering, returns, and wondering what photographs well.

Your everyday look… just with a little extra sleep and a lot less rushing

You’ll share inspiration, chat through what you normally love, and work with your artist to create something that still feels like you.

Think polished, rested, and photo-ready —not overdone.

See Before You Buy

Investing feels different when you know you love them.

You’ll get to see your images before making any decisions about digitals, albums, or framed artwork so you can feel confident you truly love your photos before investing further.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“Moms, she has the sweetest hair and makeup artist come in to doll you up, the wardrobe is chef’s kiss and she was so understanding when things had to pause for a breastfeed.”
-McKinley Swartzendruber
Remember The Entire First Year

Most moms first reach out for newborn pictures. Then a few months later, they’re emailing me saying:

“I already can’t believe how much they’ve changed.”

That’s exactly why so many families continue documenting their baby’s first year through the Baby Plan from maternity all the way to the first birthday.

Because somehow the sleepy newborn stage turns into sitter giggles and first steps almost overnight.

Click a milestone to peek inside that chapter.

WELCOME TO
THE BABY PLAN!

For the families who already know one season probably won’t be enough.

Choose any 3 sessions throughout baby’s first year, enjoy savings on session fees, receive a $500 album credit, and send birth announcements without adding one more thing to your list.

The best part? Your photos begin to feel less like separate sessions and more like the beginning of your family story.

SO HERE’S MY HOPE

That years from now, a little voice points to the hallway wall and says, “Tell me about when I was tiny,” and for a minute, you’re right back there.

ONE PRACTICAL THING BEFORE YOU GO

This experience was designed for families who value being deeply cared for and preserving this season beautifully.

From remembering how tiny they were to making sure someone was taking care of you, too, this experience was intentionally built differently.

Most families invest $1800-2500 on their experience

Frequently Asked Questions

Most families book in the second trimester. Newborn sessions are scheduled for the first 5 to 30 days of life, and those dates fill before baby arrives. If you’re already in your third trimester, reach out now.

Plan for two to four hours. Newborns set the pace we feed, we settle, we wait when we need to. Rushing a newborn session produces worse images, so I don’t. Nothing should be scheduled immediately after.

Soft neutrals, low contrast patterns and simple fabrics photograph best. At my Savannah-area studio, mom’s wardrobe is part of what I provide. Most clients use pieces from the studio rather than stressing over what to bring.

It happens in nearly every session at some point. We feed, we reset, we try again. I’ve photographed enough newborns in the Savannah area to know that patience produces better images than pushing through. You will leave with good photographs.

Yes, when you book a photographer with specific newborn experience. Poses that appear to show babies balancing or holding their heads up are composites  multiple images merged so a supporting hand is always present during the actual shot. I have years of experience working exclusively with newborns and I follow the baby’s cues throughout the session.

Specialization. A photographer who focuses on newborns has refined every part of the process around this specific session type the temperature of the studio, the posing sequence, the way the session is paced, the wardrobe, the safety protocols. It’s the difference between someone who can and someone who does it constantly.

Look at their portfolio specifically for newborn work not just babies in general. Ask whether hair and makeup is included, whether you’ll see images before purchasing, and how they handle a baby who won’t settle. A photographer who has clear answers to those questions without hesitation has done this enough times to know what they’re doing. Katrina Barrow Photography is a dedicated newborn and portrait studio serving Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Rincon, and the surrounding Lowcountry.
